Brachioplasty

Sagging in the arms bothers many women and often limits their clothing options. This problem is due to the aging process, weight loss and lack of physical exercise. It involves excess skin that extends from the armpit area to the elbow, and unfortunately, neither exercise nor various creams can help this ‘hanging’ skin.

What is brachioplasty?

It is an procedure that removes excess skin and fat from the upper arms and improves their contour.

How long will the procedure take?

The procedure lasts 1.5 to 2.5 hours depending on the problem.

What anesthesia is needed?

Usually, it is done under general anesthesia and the patient leaves the hospital after 3-4 hours with only a light bandage.

How long does recovery take?

After surgery there is minimal pain and slight swelling in the area. The patient can take care of herself from day one. It is recommended for 2 weeks not to lift weights and not to tire his upper limbs too much.

Are there incisions?

The size of the incisions depends on the size of the problem. When the skin quality is good with only minor sagging, the problem is treated with liposuction alone and no incisions. But when there is greater skin laxity, the problem is treated surgically.

In this case, the incision can be hidden in the armpit or even under the inside of the arms, if it is possible to place in an inconspicuous area.
